Be a crucial part of the Drop-In Centre's mission to uplift the Calgary community by volunteering at our partnered Community Clean-Up events organized by the City of Calgary. These events provide Calgarians with the opportunity to responsibly dispose of waste and donate furniture & household items, which directly support our Free Goods Program. Your involvement will help facilitate donations, ensuring they reach those in need, while also raising awareness about the Drop-In Centre's vital services.
Responsibilities
- Assist in receiving donations from attendees of Community Clean-Up events.
- Help load donations onto our truck for transport to the Donation Centre.
- Serve as ambassadors for the Drop-In Centre, engaging with donors and sharing information about our organization's mission and impact.
Volunteer Logistics
- Volunteers will meet Donation Centre staff when the clean-up starts at 9:00 AM.
- Volunteers should be prepared for physical tasks, lifting heavy objects, and should come prepared for rainy conditions.
Requirements
- Good physical condition with the ability to lift heavy objects.
- Reliable and punctual attendance.
- Strong interpersonal skills for engaging with donors and representing the Drop-In Centre positively.
- Passion for supporting vulnerable populations and making a difference in the community.
